Before You Book Your online reservation secures a motorcycle drop off appointment, not a same day Safety Standards Inspection. Once your motorcycle is received, the inspection is typically completed within 1 to 2 business days. Motorcycles dropped off on Friday or Saturday are generally inspected on the next available business day. Ensure your motorcycle is safe and ready for Ontario roads. A Motorcycle Safety Inspection verifies that your motorcycle meets the minimum safety requirements established by the Ministry of Transportation. When your motorcycle passes, a licensed DriveON inspection station issues a Safety Standards Certificate, which is commonly required to register a privately purchased motorcycle, transfer ownership, register an out of province motorcycle, or return a rebuilt or previously unfit motorcycle to the road. Every inspection follows Ontario Regulation 611, Schedule 6. Licensed technicians inspect the motorcycle's safety related systems, including the frame, bodywork, steering, suspension, wheels, tires, brakes, lighting, electrical equipment, controls, fuel system, exhaust system, and final drive. Components must be securely mounted, operate correctly, and show no damage or wear that could affect safe operation. If the motorcycle does not meet provincial standards, we will explain the deficiencies and provide an estimate before any repairs are completed. Once all required repairs have been made and the motorcycle complies with Ontario standards, a Safety Standards Certificate can be issued. Before arriving, ensure the motorcycle has a charged battery, sufficient fuel for testing, and any keys required to operate locks or security systems. Personal accessories or luggage may need to be removed if they prevent inspection of required components. Please advise us of any known mechanical concerns at check in so our technicians can document them before the inspection begins. A Safety Standards Inspection is not the same as routine maintenance. Passing the inspection does not certify the overall mechanical condition or guarantee future reliability. It confirms only that the motorcycle met Ontario's prescribed safety requirements at the time of inspection. If repairs are required, no work is performed without your approval.
